Rama Darshan - The Valmiki Rama Dialogue
by Anantanand Rambachan
(94 pages, Paperback, © 1995)
Where is God? How does one find God? What are the essential qualities
of a life which is centered in the love of God? These are questions
which religious seekers in every era ask and Rama Darshan offers some
of the profound Hindu answers to these inquiries. Hinduism proclaims,
without exception, that God dwells within all. God's existance in all
beings, however, does not imply that everyone is aware of this truth,
since existance is not the same as recognition. We have all experienced
occasions when we search for the ring on our fingers or the necklace
around our necks. It is for this reason that Hinduism describes the
fundamental human problem to be one of ignorance of the ultimate reality.
Rama Darshan is a study of the nature of the human heart which
finds God. Intense love for God, the performance of all activities
in a spirit of offering to God and the loving service of all beings are
necessary characteristics of this heart. We are directed to search
within ourselves for the divine.
