What people are saying about the CD-ROM

Dear People, your wonderful CD reached me yesterday and I have to say, this is a most beautiful item to have. Im
going to let my 5 year old grandaughter learn from this. I know I made a wise decision by getting this CD and will
order more of what you have available. I am pleased to see the Hindu religion taking root in America. I know from
personal experience that many people are seeking more in the way of spirituality than we have had.
My first great contact with the Hindu religion came in the 70s when I started to read works by Paramahansa
Yoganada. This CD is so well put together that I really cannot express in words how much I love it. Thank You
all.
My five year old grandaughter is already playing the OM game and listening to the CD.
Thank You, Norman Bigelow

- Living Traditions CD-ROM Review, June, 2001
Hinduism: Wisdom and Way is a multimedia CD-ROM providing an informative,
reliable and exciting introduction to the basic elements of Hindu teaching
and practice. It is presented as an interactive book and is very easy to use
and access. Installation is quite simple and hence it does not require any
great computer knowledge. [...]
The topics are diverse and cover the whole spectrum of Hinduism from the God
and the scriptures through to reincarnation and social duties. It is a well
balanced text and does not emphasize any particular school or approach.
There are some nice added extras such as a hypertext list of Sanskrit terms
including pronunciation and definitions and an entertaining and interactive
"OM" matching game.
This is an extremely well presented and informative CD-Rom available at a
very economical cost. Most highly recommended.

The creators of the CD ROM Hinduism: Wisdom and Way have to be
complimented on this very creative approach in its presentation of
Hinduism. It is the way to go in this age of technology and where
knowledge of one’s tradition is the most secure way of preserving it.
Though it was said that the CD ROM was created with the young in
mind, it certainly is beneficial to everyone, young or old, Hindu or
non-Hindu. While it is it is good for children, it is ideal for parents who
want to impart the knowledge of Hinduism but may possess limitations
in doing so.
This CD Rom can inspire to one to pursue Hinduism it at a deeper level.
It is definitely an item for a Hindu home.

I see
that it is a veritable mine of information that is direly needed to acquaint
our children with their roots. Swami Vivekananda had said that there is
nothing wrong in being born in a temple but there is everything wrong if one
dies in one. Our temples are a place of growth- to grow beyond worship and
understand realities. To this end your CD-ROM and the many booklets that you
have written should go a long way.

"This CD-ROM is a unique and refreshing introduction to the core concepts
of Hinduism," said Niranjan Persaud, age 42, with two children. "Its
elegant layout and use of narration, coupled with appropriate video and
audio references makes it appealing to people of all ages and walks
of life". Hinduism: Wisdom and Way" by Dr. Anantanand Rambachan,
Professor of Religion at St. Olaf College, Minnesota, and Craig D
Rice, is an exquisite multimedia book about Hinduism that combines 300
easy-to-read pages with audio narration, over 70 images,20 video clips,
25 recitations of sacred texts, chants instrumental music and songs,
including an original song by the author, a hypertext glossary of Sanskrit
terms ,and Sanskrit chanting with English translations. There is even a
step-by-step performance and chanting of a puja ritual! At the present
time, there is no other resource like this one for young people. Any
Hindu or non-Hindu who wishes to understand the basic doctrines and
practices of Hinduism will love this CD.

This CDROM is a timely blessing for all Hindus. It has the capacity to engross both adults and children alike. Prof. Rambachan has that ability to write with the lucidity and simplicity, which the smallest child could understand without compromising on the depth of the philosophy being conveyed.
As Hindus we often seem to be able to understand what we believe but we are unable to articulate these beliefs comprehensively. This CDROM is therefore an invaluable starting point for all Hindus, particularly those living in a non-Hindu environment, as it encompasses the very fundamentals of Hinduism.

"It is user friendly, extremely informative and unquestionably accurate. Let us
hope that our next generation uses it intelligently and regularly and, most
importantly, put the knowledge into daily practice. All of us have to work hard
to promote this tremendous teaching tool to schools, colleges, libraries and
interested individuals."

"This CD-ROM is a truly unique and refreshing introduction to the core
concepts of Hinduism. Its elegant layout and use of narration, coupled with
appropriate video and audio references makes it especially appealing to
people of all ages and walks of life. Dr. Rambachan is able to extract from
Hinduism's vast array of scriptures the wisdom of it's main principles and to
present it in a very interesting and easy to understand format. Through his
brilliant analysis and interpretation, Dr. Rambachan brings about fresh new
appreciation for Hinduism not as an ancient complex religion, but as a way of
life that is applicable even in this modern world. This CD-Rom is a valuable
tool for anyone interested in Hinduism and is a must for Hindu families."

[...] The CD is easy to use. The images are set up like a hymnal with prompts to
take you to different subject areas, to enlarge traditional images or activate
a video tape of a Puja -- worship service. It also has a matching game called
"Om."
